Frequently Asked Questions

  • I already purchased an SSL Certificate from another provider, can I use this one instead?
  • Yes! While we do offer and recommended SSL Certificates to use, you may certainly use one provided by a 3rd party instead. Submit a ticket to request the installation service for your existing SSL. Submit a ticket here.
  • If I provide my own SSL Certificate, does this change the cost in any way?
  • The cost of the installation service remains the same whether you are using a 3rd party SSL Certificate or the one we provide free for the first year. However, if you are using your own SSL certificate, after the first year you only need to pay $39 per year for ongoing maintenance, and will not need to pay the full $97 for the SSL Certificate as well.
  • Do I need to have a Static IP Address in order to use SSL / HTTPS security on my site?
  • No. SSL Certificated no longer require Static IP Address for the SSL / HTTPS security on your site to work properly. This saves you money over time.
  • Can I use my Training & Setup Credits to purchase this service?
  • No. Because an SSL Certificate is an actual product and ongoing service, it must be purchased to support its ongoing security.
  • Can I transfer my SSL certificate if I change my domain name?
  • Unfortunately, no. For security, SSL certificates are purchased and renewed annually and assigned to a specific domain name. Because of this, an SSL certificate is set up for a specific domain and cannot be transferred to another domain. In this case, you would need to purchase a new SSL certificate for the new domain name.
