Create SEO Content Automatically with Claude Skills + Brilliant Directories
If you've already connected an AI assistant to your directory with the BD MCP server, this video takes the next step: using Claude Skills and Routines to create real, SEO-ready content on your Brilliant Directories site — blog articles, event posts, and job listings — automatically and on a schedule. Instead of asking the AI for one post at a time, you hand it a repeatable playbook, and it produces complete content assets that fit your niche: titles, headings, images, internal links, meta tags, and references to trusted sources, all built in.
To put numbers on it: a test site called Find Fitness Pro generated 332 events and blog articles on autopilot — including photo selection, internal linking, and proper SEO structure — without anyone clicking "publish" 332 times.
What a Claude Skill Actually Is
A Skill is a reusable workflow — a saved prompt and playbook — that tells Claude exactly how to complete a specific task through the MCP connection. Rather than re-explaining what "a good post" looks like every time, the Skill encodes the recipe once: look for a relevant topic, check the site for duplicates, research a source of truth, and write a post with a clean, consistent structure.
The official BD Skill ships with separate files for the three content types it knows how to build:
Blog articles — niche-relevant, search-friendly posts with question-format headings.
Event posts — real local, national, and global events with registration links.
Job listings — actual openings in your niche, complete with location data and qualifications.
Because the standard lives inside the Skill, every post follows the same quality bar — which is exactly what makes it safe to run on autopilot.
What You Can Do Once It's Set Up
Fill thin category and event pages with content that actually fits your niche.
Generate blog articles, events, and job listings from a single prompt — with images, internal links, and meta tags included.
Run it on a schedule with Routines, so high-value content keeps building while you work on something else.
Skip duplicates automatically — the Skill checks what's already on your site before writing.
Feed your social channels with post-ready content that shouts out real organizers and companies.
Who This Is For
Directory and membership site owners with thin categories or empty event sections to fill.
Solopreneurs and small teams who can't staff a full content desk but still need to ship consistently.
SEO-focused operators who want structured, internally linked content that Google and AI search tools can actually understand.
Anyone already using Claude who wants it to do things on their site, not just draft text in a chat window.
SEO Is Built Into the Skill — Not Bolted On
A useful post needs structure, and the Skill bakes it in from the start. Every piece it creates includes:
Strong titles and meta tags — a compelling post title plus a meta title, custom description, and keywords to help it rank.
Proper structure — headings (often in question format, which is ideal for AI SEO and FAQs), bullets, and numbered lists for readability.
Internal linking — connections to related categories, to other events on the same day and in the same category, and to relevant directories on your site.
External linking to trusted sources — references to official registration pages and authoritative sites, which adds credibility and follows Google's guidelines for helpful content.
Long-tail and short-tail keywords — topics like "how yoga helps runners prevent common knee and hip injuries" that are genuinely useful and shareable on social media and in newsletters.
Crucially, the Skill doesn't invent facts. It finds a source of truth, then summarizes it in your site's own tone — creating a complete content asset, not a hollow AI draft. For the bigger-picture strategy here, see AI SEO on Autopilot.
What You Need Before You Start
A Brilliant Directories site.Start a free trial if you don't have one yet.
The Claude desktop app — it works with both free and paid versions of Claude.
Open the BD GitHub repository, find the BD Skill content folder, and download it as a zip file. You don't need to worry about the other files, and you don't need to open or unpack the zip.
2. Upload the Skill to Claude
In the Claude desktop app, click Customize → Skills → Add, then select the zip file you downloaded. Claude handles the rest — the BD Skill content becomes available, including the files for events, job listings, and blog articles. When an updated zip is released, just upload the new one to replace it.
3. Run a Prompt From the Prompts Folder
The Skill includes a prompts folder with ready-made prompts. Paste one into the chat and tell Claude what you want: the content type, how many posts, the publish status (draft or published), and the author. You can also pick the model — options include Sonnet and Opus 4.7 — and a good rule of thumb is to start with a cheaper model and adjust as needed.
4. Add Your Own Flavor
The prompts are a starting point. Customize them to fit your site's focus, niche, and strengths — prefer listings with strong local search intent, request a specific call to action, name the author, or narrow to certain topics, coaching positions, or locations. The more context you give, the better the fit.
5. Put It on Autopilot With a Routine
To run a Skill on a schedule, go to the Routines section and choose Local. Give it an internal nickname, add a description and instructions (you can copy these straight from the prompts folder), and tell it which site to connect to, which Skill to run, how many posts to create, and the publish status. Pick your model, set it to run automatically, and save. You can pause it anytime or hit Run now for a manual pass. A few things to know:
Local routines are available to everyone and need no advanced setup. Remote routines require a more complex configuration.
Your computer and Claude must stay open and on. If you close the laptop or shut down, the routine stops running.
Quality takes time. Each post runs deduplication checks and takes roughly 6–10 minutes — by design. That's the quality built into the Skill.
Use Cases Demonstrated Live in the Video
Finding Real Topics — and Skipping Duplicates
Before writing, the Skill pulls your site's name, context, brand images, top-level categories, and menus to understand your flavor. Then it hunts for candidates — a coaching job, a local event, an article topic — using web searches when needed. The standout feature: it checks what's already on your site and skips duplicates until it finds something genuinely new. It does this for articles, events, and jobs, which saves time and keeps your content credible.
Smart Images and Location Data
For each post, the Skill intelligently selects a matching stock photo from the Pexels library, favors landscape images for better presentation, and avoids reusing the same photo twice. For job and event posts in a specific place, it also captures the latitude and longitude so the listing is properly located.
Events and Jobs You Wouldn't Expect
The Skill surfaces diverse, real-world content — from family fitness events to a recreation assistant role at Buckley Space Force Base or a strength & conditioning coach opening at the University of Oregon. That kind of high-value, specific listing is exactly what sets a niche directory apart.
Turning Posts Into Social Traffic
Every post is also social-ready. Because the content shouts out real organizers and companies, it's natural fuel for social media — and connecting a tool like Blotato lets you publish those posts to your social accounts on a routine too. The goal is always the same: drive traffic to your money pages — sign-up pages and member directories — with complementary content that earns the click.
Why This Matters for Directory & Membership Sites
It fixes thin content at scale. Empty category and event pages are exactly what Google — and AI search — penalize. The Skill fills them with relevant, structured posts.
It's consistent. Every post follows the same quality standard, so your site reads like it was built by a team, not a random prompt.
It builds authority. Real sources, real registration links, and credible outbound references make your directory a source of truth, not a content farm.
It compounds. Paired with Routines, content keeps building overnight — see AI SEO on Autopilot for how that snowballs.
Where to Be Careful
Keep the machine awake. Routines only run while your computer and Claude are open and on.
Start in draft mode. Review the first batch before flipping new routines to "published."
Start cheap, then scale the model. Begin with a lower-cost model and move up only if you need to.
Give it real direction. The Skill is strongest when your prompt reflects your niche — vague prompts produce vaguer fits.
Quality over quantity. The point isn't to publish random AI text; it's better structure, better SEO, and a better experience for real visitors.
Download the BD Skill from GitHub and upload the zip to Claude.
Run a prompt from the prompts folder — set the type, count, status, and author.
Customize the prompt to your niche, then wrap it in a Local Routine to run on autopilot.
Watch the Replay — Then Try It Yourself
The full video sits at the top of this article, with chapter timestamps that jump you straight to each step — from what Skills are, to the live build of events, jobs, and articles, to setting up your first Routine. It's a segment from Webinar Wednesday 225.

Introduction to AI-Driven Content Creation
The tip of the week involves using AI magic with Brilliant Directories and tools such as Claude (language model) to create automated published posts with SEO pieces already built into the workflow (00:00:10).
The new way to create content on a site uses Claude with skills and routines to automate the process, allowing for the creation of blog articles, event posts, and job listings with details such as images, internal linking, and SEO details (00:00:29).
The skill tells Claude to use a site's niche, categories, and other context to create content that fits the website, and it can also repeat on a schedule using Claude routines (00:01:03).
The process can create real content on a site that fits the site's context on autopilot, with one prompt creating text and also creating content such as events and blog articles (00:01:18).
Testing and Results of the Content Creation Process
A test site called Find Fitness Pro has been used to test the process, resulting in 332 events and blog articles being created on autopilot, including selecting photos, internal linking, and SEO structure (00:01:51).
The skill is a reusable workflow or prompt for the AI that tells Claude (language model) how to complete a specific task using the MCP, such as writing an article with a clean structure and relevant topics (00:03:22).
The skill can look for relevant topics, check for duplicate content, and write posts with a clean structure, making it a powerful tool for creating content on a website (00:03:36).
Overview of the Skill and Its Functionality
The value of using Claude Skills with Brilliant Directories lies in its ability to create consistent, high-quality content that follows the same standard for each post, and can be automated to run on autopilot, allowing directory sites to build content faster and more efficiently (00:03:57).
This approach helps to address the issue of thin content in certain sections of directory sites, such as categories with limited supporting content or inactive event sections, by providing a faster way to build up content in these areas (00:04:17).
The goal of using Claude (language model) Skills is not to publish random AI-generated content, but to create useful and relevant content that supports the website's niche, helps visitors find more information, and provides search engines with more context about the site (00:04:39).
SEO and Content Quality Considerations
The process includes SEO pieces such as strong post titles, meta titles, descriptions, keywords, internal linking, and external linking to trusted sources, all of which contribute to great SEO juice (00:05:12).
A useful post needs structure, including headings, links, and readability, not only for visitors but also for Google and AI search tools to understand the content (00:05:31).
The AI creates a complete content asset for the website, connecting the post to other pages on the site through internal linking, referencing trusted outside sources, and using the built-in Brilliant Directories structure to help search engines and AI tools understand the content (00:05:54).
The process aims to achieve better structure, better SEO, and a better user experience, rather than just faster content creation for the sake of publishing (00:06:13).
Acknowledgments and Demonstration Setup
Before demonstrating the process, a shout out is given to Jonathan Dicki, a Brilliant Directories all-star who has been with the platform for over a decade (00:06:41).
The demonstration will involve connecting the MCP, which tells the AI how to talk to the Brilliant Directories website, and will be followed by a Q&A session to address any questions or roadblocks (00:07:13).
To create SEO content faster, it is necessary to connect the MCP, which gives AI access to make amendments and changes to the Brilliant Directories (BD) site, and this process is explained in other videos (00:07:40).
Skill Acquisition and Setup Process
The skill that will be used is a repeatable task that tells the AI to follow a specific playbook, such as creating posts like blogs, events, and jobs on the BD site, and it provides the exact recipe and method for SEO (00:08:23).
To get the skill, a link to the GitHub repository is required, where the BD skill content folder can be found, and a zip file can be downloaded without needing to worry about other files or unpacking it (00:08:50).
The skill can be uploaded to the Claude (language model) desktop app, which works with both free and paid versions of Claude, and the MCP, by clicking on customize and then skills, and then uploading the zip file (00:09:11).
The official BD skill for creating content on the site can be downloaded from the GitHub repository by clicking on the BD skill content folder, downloading the zip file, and then uploading it to the Claude desktop app (00:10:09).
After downloading the zip file, it is not necessary to open or unpack it, but rather just upload it to the Claude desktop app, and then the BD skill content will be available, including files for creating events, job listings, and blog articles (00:10:57).
To upload the skill to Claude, the customize option needs to be clicked, followed by the add option, and then the zip file can be selected and uploaded, after which the BD skill content will be available (00:11:08).
The BD skill content includes a few files that will enable the creation of SEO content on the BD site, and this process can be repeated or automated using routines (00:11:33).
Customization and Prompt Usage
The skill can create various types of content, including blogs, events, and jobs, and it is possible to update the skill by replacing it with the newest zip file when available (00:11:41).
The prompts folder contains pre-made prompts that can be used to tell the AI what to do, such as creating a blog article, and these prompts can be customized to fit specific needs (00:12:08).
To create content, it is necessary to provide the AI with specific instructions, such as the type of content to create, the publish status, and the author of the content, which can be done by pasting a prompt into the chat window (00:12:25).
The AI can be instructed to create a specific number of blog posts, and it is possible to set the publish status to draft mode or published, and to specify the author of the content (00:12:41).
The prompt can be customized to include specific topics or categories, and it is also possible to choose the model used by the AI, with options including Sonnet and Opus 4.7 (00:13:40).
AI Research and Content Generation Capabilities
The AI is trained to research the site's content, find official sources of truth, and create internal links, making it a useful tool for creating SEO-optimized content (00:15:30).
The skill has anti-slop mechanisms and can create content that is tailored to the site's specific needs and niche, and it is possible to start with cheaper models and adjust as needed (00:15:46).
The goal is to provide real, meaningful content to users, following Google's guidelines, and becoming a true source of truth by providing authoritative sources of information and linking out to them, which adds more clout to a brand and website (00:15:53).
Event Content Creation and Customization
The types of posts created include events, and the events routine can be customized to post every hour, with options to specify the type of events, such as family fitness events, indoor or outdoor events, or local events (00:16:46).
The prompt used to generate content can be tailored to add a specific flavor or spin to the content, allowing for customization of the type of content created (00:17:26).
The mechanism used to create content has the ability to find stock photo images that match the post, and it also prevents the use of the same image more than once, adding to the overall value of the skill (00:17:53).
Content Structure and SEO Optimization
The content creation mechanism does not invent content, but instead finds sources of truth and resumes the information in a new fashion, summarizing events in its own tone and flavor (00:18:25).
The internal linking done by the mechanism is useful for Google and SEO, including internal links to other events happening on the same day and in the same category, as well as links to official registration pages (00:18:49).
The content creation mechanism also uses headings, bullets, and numbered lists properly, and includes meta tags, such as a meta title, custom description, and keywords, to help rank the article better (00:19:26).
The process of creating content does not require giving access repeatedly, and it performs ddup checks to prevent duplicate content, taking around 6 to 10 minutes to complete a post due to the quality built into the skill set (00:20:13).
Content Creation Efficiency and Anti-Duplication
The skill set creates content with long-tail and short-tail keywords, making it ideal for autopilot mode, and the topics generated are sharable on social media and newsletters, with the example topic being "how yoga helps runners prevent common knee and hip injuries" (00:20:27).
The content generated includes specific and detailed information, such as the benefits of yoga for runners, and the use of headings in question format, which is important for AI SEO and FAQs (00:22:04).
The content also includes internal linking to relevant categories, such as the running coach top-level category, and other related directories, making it a time-saving feature (00:22:44).
Routines and Automation Features
Routines are a feature that allows for high-value content creation, and they can be found in the code section, with options to post blog articles, events, and jobs, although it is unclear if this feature is available for free Claude (language model) accounts (00:23:20).
The routines feature allows for customization, such as adding nuances to the prompt, and an example of this is adding a condition to find jobs that define a salary or hourly compensation (00:24:00).
To create effective content, use the core prompt and add personal flavor to it, specifying details such as job type or location, and the system will hunt for matching jobs and events based on the prompt (00:24:14).
Routines can be set up to run automatically, but the computer and Claude must be kept open and on, as closing the laptop or shutting down the computer will prevent the routine from running on autopilot (00:24:37).
There are local and remote routines, but for now, only local routines are available to everyone, and they do not require advanced setup, whereas remote routines need a more complex configuration (00:25:06).
Creating and Configuring Routines
To create a routine from scratch, go to the routines section, click on local, and give the routine an internal nickname, then add a description and instructions, which can be copied from a prompts folder (00:25:18).
The instructions should include connecting to a site, such as a fitness site, and running a specific skill, like the BD skill content, to create job posts, with options to specify the number of posts and publish status (00:25:57).
It is possible to customize the content by adding specific details, such as preferring listings with strong local search intent, including a call to action, and specifying the author of the post (00:26:44).
The system allows for modification of the prompt to fit the site's focus, niche, and strength, and to add flavor to the type of content created, such as specifying coaching positions or locations (00:27:17).
After setting up the routine, it is necessary to select a folder on the site, although nothing is saved to the folder, and then the create button is activated, allowing the routine to be saved and run (00:28:05).
Skill Setup and Execution Details
To set up the skill, create a dummy folder on the desktop, select it, and choose the desired model, such as Opus 4.7, which has been performing well, and then choose when to run the skill, setting it to auto mode (00:28:18).
The skill can be set to run on a routine, with the option to pause it, and manual runs can be done at any time by clicking "run now", allowing for flexibility in content creation (00:28:44).
The skill has a methodology to follow anti-slop patterns and URL patterns to prevent AI detection and avoid standard AI patterns, and it reads the skill content, including the first line, which is the BD skill content (00:29:34).
Skill Context Understanding and Content Selection
The skill gets the site's information, including the site name, context, brand images, and top-level categories, to understand the site's context and flavor, and it can be told to write articles on a specific top-level category (00:30:02).
The skill checks the site's menus, including the main menu, to figure out more context and potential main navigation pages, and it also figures out internal linking to other articles and categories (00:30:35).
After gathering site context, the skill looks for candidates to write about, such as job listings, and it can perform web searches to find relevant information, like coaching positions, and choose the strongest candidate to work on (00:31:10).
The skill understands the context of the website and can find relevant information, such as strength and conditioning coach positions, even if the prompt lacks specificity, making it a useful tool for content creation (00:31:50).
The skill can filter out positions it has already written about or doesn't like, and it can start with another pass, allowing for efficient content generation (00:32:13).
The skill is able to find a unique position that has not been posted on the site yet, and it does this for articles, events, and jobs, by looking for duplicates on the site and skipping them until it finds a unique candidate, which is a key feature that saves time and adds credibility to the site (00:32:20).
Image and Location Integration
The skill is capable of getting the latitude and longitude of a job listing because it is in a specific location, and it also gets a stock photo from the pixels library, using a mechanism to intelligently look for the right type of photo to accompany the post (00:32:39).
The skill favors images that are more landscape in size, which helps with the presentation of the post and makes it appear better, and it will continue to work on finding and posting job listings, events, and articles (00:33:12).
There are many events happening on a local, national, and global scale, and the skill is able to pull these events, including job listings, which can be surprising and helpful for sites that serve specific industries or local areas (00:33:38).
Finding and Posting Diverse Content
The skill can find diverse local events and job listings, such as a recreation assistant job at Buckley Space Force Base, and it provides high-value information that can set a site apart and add credibility (00:34:13).
The skill creates internal links and links out to credible authority sites, which helps with SEO, and the created content can also be used to post on social media, driving traffic to the site (00:34:48).
The next step is to automate the post to social media, which requires another level of connection, and there are tools like Blotato that allow social accounts to be connected to the skill, enabling the creation and publishing of posts to social media (00:35:27).
Social Media Integration and Traffic Generation
The skill can find job listings, such as a strength and conditioning coach at the University of Oregon, and it provides an introduction and details about the job, which can be used to create social posts that shout out to event organizers or companies (00:35:52).
The skill's ability to create job and event posts can help drive social traffic to a site, especially if social posts are created on a routine basis, shouting out to organizers or companies, which can increase engagement and visibility (00:36:06).
The goal is to drive traffic to money pages, such as sign-up pages or member directories, by creating complimentary content that attracts visitors, which can include information about job roles, responsibilities, and requirements (00:36:19).
Content Optimization and SEO Tagging
The content provides details about the position, including required and preferred qualifications, and can be optimized with relevant tags to improve search engine optimization (SEO) (00:36:24).
The example given highlights a full-time position, possibly related to Eugene and University of Oregon athletics, and demonstrates how researching a valid position can help create effective content (00:36:30).
The use of tags is particularly useful for enhancing SEO, and the content can be structured to include relevant information about the job, such as its full-time nature and other relevant details (00:36:44).
Overall, the strategy involves creating informative and optimized content to attract visitors to a website or marketplace, with the example provided illustrating how this can be achieved with a job listing (00:36:53).

Making a living off my Brilliant Directories websites
I have been working with different directory web platforms like Wordpress, 6Cube, SEOSamba and others for over 20 years. About three years ago I found out about Brilliant Directories, since then I have built 10 directories. First, the websites and pages are Google friendly right out of the box, this is one of the most important parts of a good platform to me. Second, the software is very easy to use and there is lots of help to build your site... I no longer have a regular job because I am making a living off of my 10 Brilliant Directories.
I chose Brilliant Directories because it had everything I needed when I was looking to create my membership website. The support and community inside Brilliant Directories is a great help, and you have access to literally thousands of other BD website owners who all come together to share their experiences, tips and help. If you are looking to create a directory, I can not recommend Brilliant Directories enough. No matter what you are wanting to do, there is a theme suitable for your needs!
Brilliant Directories is the one you should choose
All the people in the support staff have been amazing. In less than 30 days I've been able to put together a membership website that can generate money and I am greatly appreciative of everything they do and all the knowledge they have. Thank you for all the webinar trainings. You guys don't need to do that kind of stuff - but that's what I love most. If you haven't picked a membership program yet, Brilliant Directories is the one you should choose.
I went into my venture alone, but was pleasantly surprised at the community and the Brilliant Directories support team. The staff is super responsive and it truly feels like they are rooting for us. On top of this, there are great discussions and support within the Facebook group, where I manage to learn something new from other membership website owners every day. It's an amazing and continuously evolving product and I'm happy to be a part of it!
The sky is the limit with what you can do on the Brilliant Directories platform. I love the fact that everything can be customised and there are constant improvements and additions. The support, advice and guidance that one receives through the BD Facebook group, Webinars and Support team is excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a directory type website.
We love BD. After using other website platforms for our business, BD has helped to grow our company in ways we couldn't have imagined. If you are serious about starting an online directory we highly recommend that you use BD. They have more settings and built-in tools than we initially thought - which helps tremendously. It's so easy that once you start your first project, you want to launch even more website ideas on the platform... You won't be sorry!
After many long days testing different platforms, it was a relief to find Brilliant Directories. Not only does the platform have the features I required, it was affordable and the support is second to none. I managed to achieve things with BD that I never imagined I could do by myself... Money which would have been spent on developers has gone into marketing my site. BD has a very strategic approach in the growth of the platform and it is clear to see customers are at the forefront of that approach.
One of the best business decisions we've ever made
We switched to BD about a year ago, and it's one of the best business decisions we ever made. Our website now is user-friendly, and our members can easily update their profiles and add content on their own. But what I love most about BD is that they are constantly adding new features, and they seem to really care about their clients... We struggled through various platforms, from WordPress to very expensive custom-built websites. None came close to being as functional or reliable as our BD website.
After working with the Brilliant Directories team for the past 5 years, I've enjoyed building our websites and learning new ways to improve. Having access to a responsive support team has been very important for our success. Thanks to everyone at Brilliant Directories for guidance, constant improvements, Facebook groups and interactive webinars! We've already built one directory (www.NJwedding.com), launched another (www.NJparenting.com) and have more ideas to implement very soon.
