Tip of the Week
Most owners know they should check their site each week: who signed up, who went quiet, what got published, where the leads came from. In practice that review gets skipped, because it means clicking through reports and piecing the story together by hand.
This Tip of the Week hands that job to AI. Connect Claude to your site through the Brilliant Directories MCP, connect it to Gmail, and save a prompt as a recurring task. The review then arrives in your inbox on a schedule, with a to-do list attached. If you haven't connected your site yet, start with Connect Claude Code to Brilliant Directories.
How Claude, Google and Your Website Fit Together
The MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the bridge that lets an AI tool connect to your website, analyze it, and make changes to it. Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and Grok all connect the same way, and setup takes a few minutes.
Google is the delivery side. Inside Claude you can connect Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets and Google Calendar, which lets a report land in your inbox or a spreadsheet instead of sitting in a chat window.
The third piece is the schedule. Claude can save a prompt as a recurring task, which works much like automations or skills in other AI tools. Set it once and it runs on the day and time you choose.
The three workflows in the video are starting points. Your site and your goals are different from the demo site's, so adapt the prompts or build your own from the same parts.
What You Can Do
- Get a weekly performance briefing that compares the last seven days with the seven before and ends on three recommended actions.
- Build call lists of active members, split into free and paid, for outreach and upgrade conversations.
- Find your five strongest growth opportunities each week, with the evidence, links and a next step for each.
- Spot paying members who have gone dormant before they cancel.
- Research competing sites for members you could invite to join yours.
- Track new members' first two weeks and see whose profiles are incomplete, with direct links to each one.
- Send reports to Gmail, Google Sheets or Google Drive, on the schedule you set.
Who This Is For
- Owners who skip the weekly site review because it takes too long to do by hand.
- Membership sites on recurring plans, where onboarding and retention decide revenue.
- Directories selling leads or paid tiers, who want to know which free members are ready to upgrade.
- New sites with little data yet. Claude can learn your niche, purpose and audience through the MCP and run competitor analysis until your own numbers build up.
What You Need Before You Start
- A Brilliant Directories website connected to Claude through the MCP.
- The Claude desktop app. Recurring tasks are scheduled from the desktop application, not the browser version.
- Gmail connected inside Claude, plus Google Sheets or Drive if you want reports saved there.
- A computer that is switched on when the task is due to run.
How to Set It Up — Step by Step
Step 1: Connect your website
Follow the MCP setup for your AI tool. The process is close to identical across Claude, ChatGPT and the others.
Step 2: Connect your Google apps
In Claude, connect Gmail and any of Drive, Sheets or Calendar you plan to use. If your company email runs through Gmail, anything Claude sends goes out from your own domain.
Step 3: Write the prompt
Say what to analyze, what period to cover, what the report should contain, and where to send it. Each workflow below includes a prompt you can adapt.
Step 4: Run it once by hand
Read the first report before you schedule anything. Tighten the prompt where the output is vague or includes things you don't need.
Step 5: Save it as a recurring task
Choose the day and time. Claude keeps its own clock, so the task triggers on schedule without you opening anything.
Use Cases Demonstrated Live in the Video
1. Monday Morning Website Briefing
The first workflow is a weekly summary of the site, waiting in your inbox before you start on Monday.
Claude reviews the past week, compares it with the week before, and reports on engagement and member signups. It also pulls in recent events, job posts and new members, then turns all of it into a checklist of where to focus.
Review my website's activity for the past 7 days and compare it with the previous 7 days. Include key metrics, notable changes, any issues you find, and three recommended actions. Send the report to me through Gmail.
Two additions make the briefing more useful:
- A call list. Ask for active members split into free and paid, so you know who to contact about an upgrade.
- Patterns in the data. A cluster of signups in one city is a signal of where a pay-per-click budget could bring in leads and referrals for your members.
2. Weekly Growth Opportunity Radar
The second workflow looks for growth rather than reporting on the week. Claude reviews member profile clicks, leads and published content, then returns a short list you can act on.
Analyze member profile clicks, leads and published content on my website for the past week. Identify the five strongest opportunities to grow membership or member value. For each, give the supporting evidence, relevant links and a recommended next step. Flag any missing data rather than making assumptions. Email the report to me.
The last instruction matters. A report that admits a gap is more useful than one that fills it with a guess.
What the radar can surface:
- Upgrade candidates. Your most active free members, and the members buying the most leads.
- Dormant paying members. They are the members most likely to cancel, so reach them with something useful before they decide.
- Content mix changes. New posts, member activity, and shifts in what's being published.
- Prospects on competing sites. Claude can research other sites in your space for members you don't have yet.
One outreach tactic from the session: when you contact a prospect, mention the competitors of theirs who are already listed on your site. It gives them a concrete reason to join.
The same weekly report can sit alongside BD Butler routines that publish content on a schedule, such as articles on the thought leaders in your niche, with videos embedded where they can be found.
3. New-Member Onboarding Concierge
On a recurring membership model, a new member's first two weeks decide whether they stay active. The third workflow watches that window and reports each morning.
Review the members who joined my website in the last 7 to 14 days. For each one, list what's missing from their profile, link to the profile, and suggest a next step. Point out anyone who needs personal help to get set up. Send the summary to me through Gmail each morning.
In the demo, Claude produced an onboarding scoreboard covering claimed status, email validity, photo, bio length, tags and phone numbers for each new member.
It also caught problems across the whole group: none of the recent members had a short search description, few were verified, and some signups used placeholder emails.
The most useful output was telling people apart. One member had logged in unprompted on September 2 with a nearly complete profile.
That member didn't need onboarding help. They needed a sales conversation: help finishing the last few fields, then an offer for the $10 a month plan.
Where the gaps can be filled, BD Butler can enrich a profile by member ID. It searches the web for missing street addresses, zip codes, websites and social links, and writes directory summaries and search snippets. A daily email can report each change it made.
Why This Matters for Directory and Membership Sites
- The review gets done. A report that arrives on its own is read far more often than a dashboard you have to remember to open.
- Retention starts earlier. Spotting incomplete profiles in week one and dormant paying members before renewal protects recurring revenue.
- Upgrades get a reason. Free members who are already active, and members already buying leads, are the easiest upgrade conversations you'll have.
- New sites aren't left out. Competitor analysis gives you action items before your own data has much to say.
- An assistant for little or no cost. The marketing, copywriting and SEO work these reports point to can be done with the AI subscription you may already have. Read the 5-part growth plan for where that work fits.
Where to Be Careful
- Scheduling needs the desktop app. Recurring tasks run from the Claude desktop application, not the browser.
- Your computer has to be on. The tasks run locally. If the machine is off at the scheduled time, the task usually runs once it wakes up.
- Handle dormant members with care. Reach out with something useful. Don't point out that they've stopped logging in.
- Imported data skews the picture. Bulk imports can over-represent one franchise or add duplicates. The business importer can skip companies already on your site and block duplicate names within a batch.
- Demo data isn't real data. Insights get more meaningful once organic signups replace imported listings.
How to Get Started
- Step 1 — Connect your site to Claude through the Brilliant Directories MCP.
- Step 2 — Connect Gmail, plus Google Sheets or Drive if you want reports saved there.
- Step 3 — Run the Monday briefing prompt once and adjust it until the report is useful.
- Step 4 — Save it as a recurring task in the Claude desktop app.
- Step 5 — Add the growth radar weekly and the onboarding concierge daily.
- Step 6 — Act on what comes back. The reports are worth the calls and fixes they lead to.

Monday Morning Website Briefing (00:02:57)
- A Monday morning website briefing workflow allows users to receive an automated email summary of their website's performance directly in their inbox, compatible with Gmail and other email providers (00:02:57).
- Claude (AI) can analyze website data from the previous week to provide a concise summary, including comparisons to the prior week regarding engagement metrics and member signups (00:03:23).
- The briefing identifies specific areas requiring attention, providing a checklist that helps users determine their focus for the upcoming week (00:03:52).
- Beyond general performance summaries, the workflow can generate a call list of active members, categorized by free or paid status, to assist with outreach and plan upgrades (00:04:21).
- The Brilliant Directories MCP (Model Context Protocol) is identified as a key tool for enabling this analysis (00:04:26).
- Users can configure Claude to automate these tasks by connecting it to services such as Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, and Google Calendar (00:05:21).
- A practical application involves instructing Claude to search a connected website for recent events, job posts, and new members, and then having the AI email that information to a specified address (00:05:56).
- The AI can autonomously draft and send these emails using the connected Gmail account, including actionable insights or opportunities identified during the site analysis (00:06:16).
- AI tools can be utilized to synthesize website data, such as recent events, job posts, and member signups, to generate actionable insights and task lists (00:06:37).

- AI analysis can assist in determining where to allocate pay-per-click advertising budgets to effectively generate leads and referrals for website members (00:08:18).
- Modern AI models feature internal "wall clocks," allowing them to trigger scheduled tasks automatically at specific times (00:09:04).
- Because these automations often run locally, the computer must remain powered on for the tasks to execute at the scheduled time (00:09:12).
- If a computer is turned off during a scheduled task, the automation will typically resume or "wake up" once the computer is turned back on (00:09:44).
- Users can request comprehensive website performance reports that compare activity over the past seven days against the preceding seven-day period (00:09:59).
- Automated reports can be configured to include key metrics, notable changes, identified issues, and three specific recommended actions sent via Gmail (00:10:06).
Weekly Growth Opportunity Radar (00:10:24)
- Automations can be utilized to identify growth opportunities for a website by having Claude (AI) analyze data such as member profiles, clicks, leads, and published content on a weekly basis (00:10:24).
- A weekly report can be generated and sent directly to an inbox, providing a digestible summary that includes the five strongest growth opportunities, supporting evidence, relevant links, and recommended next steps (00:10:49).
- Using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), Claude can identify specific user segments, such as the most active free members or those who purchase the most leads, to determine which individuals might be suitable for membership tier upgrades (00:11:32).
- AI can be used to research competitor websites to identify members featured on those platforms, who may then be targeted for outreach to join a different site (00:11:50).
- A "ninja" marketing strategy involves identifying a prospect's competitors already listed on one's own site and using that information to encourage the prospect to join as well (00:12:03).
- Company email accounts can be connected to Gmail and subsequently integrated with Claude, allowing for automated outreach or communication sent from a branded domain (00:12:14).
- Claude (AI) can function as a virtual marketing assistant by crowdsourcing industry knowledge, providing insights, and performing tasks that would otherwise require manual data analysis (00:12:26).
- The Claude desktop application features an internal clock that allows for the scheduling of recurring tasks, such as the weekly growth opportunity report (00:13:02).
- The scheduling functionality for recurring tasks is currently available within the Claude desktop application, rather than the web browser version (00:13:23).
- Automated reports can include key metrics such as new posts, member activity, and content mix changes to serve as an analytical guide for website performance (00:13:50).
- Identifying active or paying members who have become dormant is a strategic priority, as these individuals are at the highest risk of canceling their subscriptions (00:14:20).
- Engaging or promoting content to dormant members before they decide to cancel can help retain them, though caution is advised to avoid unnecessarily drawing attention to their inactive status (00:14:42).
- Automated routines, such as BD Butler, can be configured to generate industry-specific articles, including content focused on thought leaders or icons in a particular niche (00:15:01).
- These automated articles can be programmed to search for and embed relevant videos of the featured industry figures, although the success of finding such media may vary (00:15:39).
- Site management tools can provide periodic reports, such as a "Monday morning report," which can be customized to highlight specific metrics and information necessary for site growth (00:16:14).
- A "Weekly growth opportunity radar" prompt can be used to analyze member profile clicks, leads, and published content to identify the five strongest opportunities for increasing membership or member value (00:16:34).
- AI tools can be instructed to provide supporting evidence, relevant links, and recommended next steps for growth opportunities, while being directed to flag missing data rather than making assumptions (00:16:48).
- AI can be utilized to enrich member data by searching the internet for missing information, such as social media links (Facebook or Instagram), phone numbers, or by writing improved "About Me" snippets for member profiles (00:17:02).
- Reports detailing all data enrichment activities can be sent via email on a daily or more frequent basis, depending on the size and needs of the directory (00:17:44).
- For new websites lacking significant internal data, connecting an AI to the site via the Model Context Protocol (MCP) allows the AI to understand the site's niche, purpose, and target demographic (00:17:57).
New-Member Onboarding Concierge (00:18:19)
- Artificial intelligence can perform daily or weekly competitor analysis to identify successful strategies and provide actionable items for growth, even for sites with limited existing data (00:18:19).
- Tools like BD Butler can be utilized to enrich member profiles by searching the internet for missing information, such as social media links, using a member's ID number (00:18:47).
- AI models, including Claude (AI), Codeex, or Grockbot, can connect to platforms like Brilliant Directories and Gmail to synthesize site data and provide website owners with insights regarding opportunities or potential issues (00:20:19).
- AI can assist in identifying dormant paying members who have not logged into a site for an extended period, allowing owners to address retention proactively (00:20:46).
- A new member onboarding concierge workflow can be implemented to improve member retention and engagement, which is critical for recurring membership models (00:20:57).
- This onboarding automation can be configured to have Claude review members who joined within the last 7 to 14 days and deliver a summary report directly to an email inbox each morning (00:21:44).
- The daily onboarding report can identify members with incomplete profiles, provide links to those profiles, list missing information, and suggest specific next steps for the site owner (00:22:04).
- The AI can highlight specific new members who may require personal assistance to complete their onboarding process and become active on the site (00:22:28).
- An automation workflow can be used to identify new website members who have not yet completed their profiles, allowing for personalized outreach to improve member engagement and retention (00:22:42).
- A specific prompt can be configured to review the most recent website members and generate a summary via Gmail, detailing incomplete profiles, missing information, and recommended actions for each user (00:23:37).
- BD Butler can perform data enrichment on member profiles by searching the internet to populate previously blank fields, such as street addresses, zip codes, website URLs, and social media links (00:24:06).
- Beyond data enrichment, BD Butler can generate concise directory summaries and search snippets to improve the quality and completeness of member profiles (00:24:47).
- BD Butler is capable of conducting broader research tasks, including competitor analysis, gathering trending industry news, and identifying topics for blog content by accessing the live internet (00:25:29).
- Users can establish automated routines within BD Butler to generate content such as blog posts, events, and job listings tailored to a specific local market or industry (00:26:32).
- These routines allow for custom instructions, such as specifying particular types of events—like family fitness, marathons, or outdoor activities—within a designated city (00:26:52).
- Claude (AI) can be utilized to perform routine tasks, such as reviewing the 10 most recent website members and summarizing their onboarding status via email (00:27:08).
- AI analysis of recent member signups can identify data quality issues, such as the presence of placeholder emails or an over-representation of specific franchise locations resulting from bulk import tools (00:27:52).
- A feature within the business importer tool allows users to prevent duplicate entries by skipping companies that already exist on the website or by blocking duplicate names within a single import batch (00:28:28).
- Users can filter business imports by using a "does not match" keyword function, which excludes specific companies—such as large franchises—from being included in the search results (00:29:29).
- Claude can generate an "onboarding scoreboard" that provides detailed insights into member profiles, including information on claimed status, email validity, photo presence, bio length, and missing data points like tags or phone numbers (00:30:14).
- The AI can identify systemic gaps across a cohort of members, such as the universal absence of short search descriptions or a lack of verification among recent signups (00:31:05).
- Data imported into a demo site allows for the testing of insights, though real organic signups provide more meaningful data regarding user activity (00:31:21).
- The system identifies which users are missing profile information and provides direct links to those specific profile pages (00:31:34).
- Analysis of site members can distinguish between users who require onboarding assistance and those who represent potential sales opportunities (00:31:48).
- A specific user who logged in unprompted on September 2nd and maintained a nearly complete profile is identified as a candidate for a direct sales conversation rather than an onboarding follow-up (00:31:55).
- The recommended strategy for high-potential users is to contact them directly, assist them in completing their remaining profile fields, and offer a $10 per month subscription plan (00:32:09).
- The integration of MCP (Model Context Protocol) with tools like Claude (AI) or Codeex enhances the functionality of platforms like BD Butler (00:32:30).
- Users utilize Claude to automate SEO strategies by creating a primary "money page" for conversions and supporting it with linked articles and content (00:32:51).
- Automating these marketing, copywriting, and SEO tasks functions similarly to employing a virtual assistant, often at a minimal or zero cost (00:33:05).
